A Lesson about Pain

I sat there at the edge of hopelessness
Watch as all your promises
and dreams flew away.
Watch the horizon
where light meets darkness.

Then slowly the pain in me
starts to manifest itself
And I begged for anything to stop it.

Then rain came
and begin to dissolve the wounded parts.
So I took my bleeding hurt out
and forced water to wash it clean.

I grew impatient because as time grows,
It became more and more ruined.
Eating the sound that I live by.
I had to heal
before I become somebody I shouldn’t.

So I let go.
Put the hurt back to its place.
Let the rain wash my face.
And I walked away from the edge.
Towards other things that kept me out of despair.
