You crawl beneath the shackles of a rundown house.
The building’s abandoned like a broken chord.
No voice.
That sound faded after years.
Finally I’m able to give it away.

You took that place, occupying the space.
There could’ve been something else there,
If I picked up my pace.
But I let your shadows overtake.
A delusional state of memories that can never fade.

You find it hard, I guess it’s tough for you.
But like a crazy messed up state.
I took the stab hard, to ease that pain.
The ache, that swallowed the numbs.
My thumbs were all black and blue.

You parade the walls of broken emptiness.
Watch the sharp edges of pillars and trace the spikes.
Satisfied. Of your own masterpiece.
You touched the rims and they crumble.
You love to watch me weak.

I had enough of going back and forth.
Of becoming a victim of my own misapprehension.

So this is it, my ballad of freedom.
No more confusion. I’m letting go.
Your shadows. Your very essence.

The life in which insanity is common sense.
