She closed her eyes, creased
Shut them tight.
Yet released the tension.
As let her lashes touched.
Her head, it turned.
Her ears awakened.
The sounds of birds.
Hummed through, a melody.
The chirps turned into a code.
She watched and listened for awhile.
Fond of the series of soft vibrations.
Like a ring but not piercing.
Her eyes darted as one flew past.
Shoulders forward as if welcoming their stay.
Then one a robin perched onto her.
And sang a song of life.
” A bird should be set free” she thought.
I watched the sky and the wind greeted me.
Beauty lies free surrounding us.
It is sad to watch as greed overtakes.
